When I decided to warn the world about this curling iron, I was shocked to hear that many others encountered the same exact problems with this curling iron as I did. That was a big relief for me because I thought that I would be the only bearer of bad news about the conair. But I am glad I was wrong. Anyways, the purpose of this post is to share with you my story, so that you can make a wise decision about which curling iron you should use. And as you should already know, the conair curling iron is definitely not the styling iron that you should buy. Let me explain why.

In February of this year, my husband and I had a very special evening planned for us on Valentine’s Day. We’ve been talking about this special date for weeks and I was really anticipating it. I really wanted to look nice for my husband so I decided to buy a conair curling iron so that I can curl my hair. At the time, I did not have the money to go to a hair salon to have a professional stylist do my hair. So I decided to go the economical route and buy a conair ceramic curling iron.  I’ve bought many conair products in the past and I’ve been quite pleased with them.

I visited a well known hair styling website in order to order this curling iron. During the ordering process, the site told me that I should receive my curling iron within the next 2 weeks. But that was far from the truth. About a week and a half later, I got informed that my curling iron hasn’t even been shipped yet. The company told me that they were waiting to receive a shipment of it so that they can send it to me. They then told me to be patient. But check this out, they actually told me that I could not cancel my payment for this curling iron. I was very offended when they told me that. But I decided to be the better person and wait patiently, especially since Valentine’s Day was just 2 1/2 weeks away.

So 9 days after informing me of the delay, I received my conair curling iron. The following day after receiving my curling iron, I decided to test it how to see how well it works. And to get straight to the point, I was extremely disappointed with the conair curling iron. Never in my life did I think a conair product can get this bad. But it really disappointed me to see all of the problems this ceramic iron had.

First off, the hair clamp does not hold the hair at all. Everytime I clamped my hair in order to curl it, the minute I would start rolling the iron towards my head, my hair would immediately slip out of the clamp. I tried to curl my hair numerous times, but everytime my hair would slip out. Obviously, there is a huge design malfunction with the conair curling iron. The design is so wrong that I do not even see how conair can continue selling a curling iron that is so frustrating to work with! It took me hours to curl up my hair, which is really ridiculous.

But I not only had problems with the hair clamp, I had problems with the curls. Why? Because after so much use of it, there were hardly any curls to show for it. I curled my hair for hours, but most of the curls would never form. I even tried to use hair spray to see if it would help, but it didn’t.

So after being so frustrated with this item, I decided to turn it back in so that I can get my money back. I called the company I ordered the conair iron from to get more info about their refund and return policy. And to my amazement, the company refused to honor their refund and return policy for me! Yes, you heard correctly. This company refused to give me my money back. So after making some bold claims, as well as threatening them on the phone, I finally got them to accept their refund policy.

I later used the money to purchase another curling iron that I did extensive research on before I decided to order it. I did not want to make the same mistake as I made with the conair curling iron. So I bought this recent 3 in 1 styling iron and I have very little complaints thus far. The only problem that I have at the moment is that this new styling iron doesn’t curl as tight as I would want it to. But on the most part, I love it because the clamp works so well, my curls hold for a long time, and it is extremely easy to use. So if I had to rate this new curling iron, I would give it a 9 out of 10. It’s not perfect, but it is likely the best tool for styling your hair right now.
